Security Tips

For maximum security when using your Client Card, exercise caution. Here are a few pointers to follow:
- Never lend your Client Card to anyone. It belongs to you and is for your use only.
- Keep your eye on your card at all times and be sure to retrieve it once you have completed your transaction.
- Your PIN is your electronic signature. Never reveal it to anyone.
- Only complete a transaction if you feel comfortable doing so. If someone is standing too close to you, ask him or her to step away in order to ensure your transaction remains private.
- Change your PIN regularly. If you think that someone saw you enter your PIN during a transaction, change it immediately.
- Memorize your PIN. Do not write it down anywhere.
- When you enter your PIN at an ABM or point of sale terminal, use your hand or your body to block anyone else’s view of the keypad.
- When choosing your PIN, never use numbers based on your date of birth, address or phone number, as they are too obvious.
- Take the time to read the Agreement Governing the Use of Automated Services and Electronic Banking Solutions you were given to make sure you understand each party’s responsibilities if your card is lost, stolen or misused.
- If your card is lost, stolen, used fraudulently or retained by a banking machine, call us immediately, at any time, at 1-800-361-0070 or (514) 281-3159.
