National Bank of Canada officially opens its newly-renovated main branch
Montreal, 21 November 2000 - After several weeks of major renovations, National Bank of Canada is proud to announce the official opening of its main branch, located at 600 de La Gauchetière West.
The work was needed to modernize and upgrade existing facilities so as to reflect the Bank's orientations as regards its financial products and services and its personalized approach to advising clients. The new layout addresses these concerns by offering the Bank's varied clientele premises that are clearly arranged for specific purposes. These include a centrally-located reception desk, effective use of signs to direct clients within the branch, a large self-service zone for carrying out transactions via banking machines, closed offices for maximum privacy, and an SME financial centre staffed by a team of advisors to serve the needs of business clients. Moreover, terminals with Internet access have been installed for clients who want to do their banking or check their accounts on-line.
Information, advisory services and a welcoming atmosphere are the three criteria on which the layout and design experts clearly focussed their attention in reconfiguring the branch.
According to Réal Raymond, President – Personal and Commercial Bank at the National Bank, "walking into our newly-renovated branch, the largest of the Bank's 540 branches in Canada, is to enter the world of global banking – a world so full of possibilities that clients may easily lose their way. Here, our clients can be sure of finding a wealth of resources and, more importantly, the answers to their questions. The new, user-friendly layout, the new technology and all the other improvements made have a single purpose, namely, to make life easier for our clients."
