National Bank of Canada and IBM team up for ClicCommerce

Montreal, 21 February 2002 - 

The National Bank of Canada (NA-T) and IBM Canada Ltd today announced IBM's participation in the Bank's e-commerce subsidiary, ClicCommerce (www.cliccommerce.ca). This transaction will mean an increase in resources for the development of the ClicCommerce portal and is a clear endorsement of the business model created by the National Bank of Canada.

ClicCommerce will leverage from IBM's participation by leveraging IBM's global capabilities and leadership in e-commerce "This contribution demonstrates IBM Canada's commitment to e-procurement and its confidence in the National Bank's role as the premier e-commerce driver in Quebec," explained Michel Lozeau, Senior Vice-President, E-commerce, National Bank. ClicCommerce is a firm specialized in electronic commerce owned by National Bank of Canada and COGNICASE.

"ClicCommerce is an innovative portal that provides enterprises with information and services, simplifying the way they do business. ClicCommerce offers B2C hosting and B2B e-procurement services through its ClicInc portal. IBM was one of the first suppliers to join ClicCommerce. This latest announcement further reinforces IBM's commitment to the e-commerce market.
