Gordon Cheesbrough leaves Altamira. Chris Hodgson appointed President and CEO
Montreal, 4 September 2002 - National Bank of Canada announces the departure of Gordon Cheesbrough as President and Chief Executive Officer of its new division Altamira, effective September 6, 2002.
Mr. Cheesbrough has informed the Bank of his wish to leave Altamira to pursue new business opportunities. Mr. Cheesbrough is well known and respected in the world of asset management in Canada and has been with Altamira since 1998. We take this opportunity to wish him well and much success in his future endeavours.
During his tenure with Altamira, Mr. Cheesbrough has demonstrated strong abilities and leadership skills, contributing to the success and development of this important manager and distributor of mutual funds. Mr. Cheesbrough also played a key role in the successful completion and transition of the transaction between Altamira and National Bank of Canada.
Mr. Chris Hodgson, who has been with Altamira for four years as Managing Director, Retail, has been appointed Altamira s new President and Chief Executive Officer. This appointment takes effect on September 6.
