Guest speakers and experts from National Bank at the Innovation & Exports 2004

Montreal, 16 November 2004 - 

As part of Innovation & Exports 2004, which starts tomorrow, three representatives from National Bank will be speaking at different conferences on business issues facing Quebec exporters. A number of experts from National Bank will also be on hand to give advice on financing and international trade.

This event is an opportunity to promote exporting and also provides entrepreneurs with tools and advice to meet the challenges specific to this sector,” explained Tony Meti, Senior Vice-President – Commercial Banking and International at National Bank.

Clément Gignac, Chief Economist and Strategist at National Bank and Senior Vice-President of National Bank Financial, will be one of the keynote speakers at the plenary on Wednesday, November 17, at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Gignac will be discussing the economic risks that lie ahead for the manufacturing sector.

Later that day, at 4:00 p.m., Patrick-Claude Dionne, Senior Manager – International Trade, will lead a workshop on the Bank's approach to trade finance. Through testimonials and concrete examples, participants will also learn how National Bank can help companies structure international trade deals.

On Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 10:45 a.m., Antoine Lajoie, Senior Manager –  Foreign Exchange and Derivative Products, will speak on managing currency risk.  This presentation will enable participants to identify strategies they can use in today's economic environment to reduce their vulnerability and remain competitive.

National Bank will also set up an online public access point so that visitors can log on directly to the Bank's Internet Banking Solutions. They will be able to learn more about the Bank's e-wire transfer service and foreign exchange transactions, which let companies exchange currencies directly and complete transfers quickly and securely anywhere in the world.
