National Bank Donates $100,000 to the
Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal
Montreal, 17 January 2006 -
National Bank is pleased to contribute to the objectives of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) by making a $100,000 donation as part of its annual fundraising gala, to be held on April 6.
National Bank believes it is important to support causes related to the health and wellness of communities. Hospital centres play a crucial role in this respect, primarily through the acquisition of leading-edge medical equipment. “We know that every dollar collected through this benefit event will be used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and thereby contribute to the quality of life of many people,” said Pierre Desbiens, Senior Vice-President – Sales and Personal Banking at National Bank and honorary chair of the benefit event.
In 2004, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave $12 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
More information on the many causes and projects the Bank supports as part of its commitment to communities can be found in the Bank’s Social Responsibility Report on its website at www.nbc.ca.
