Share card games from the Quebec Breakfast Club with your loved ones
Montréal, 20 November 2006 -
After the success of last year’s piggy bank fundraiser, the Quebec Breakfast Club and National Bank are teaming up once again to help the club raise money for disadvantaged children. This year, the piggy banks will be replaced by a colourful pig-shaped deck of cards and a fun memory game, in the shape of a kitty.
Starting today until December 30, you can bring these animal pals home for just $5 each and delight a child in your life while helping children get a good start to their day.
For the first time this year, both games will be sold nationwide in all National Bank branches with proceeds in Quebec going to the Quebec Breakfast Club and proceeds elsewhere donated to the Breakfast Clubs of Canada*. Last year’s piggy bank campaign raised close to $250,000 in Quebec alone, helping volunteers serve 2 million breakfasts to 14,250 children in 199 schools across the province.
With the support of National Bank’s entire branch network, both partners are confident that they will raise even more money this year to help Canadian children. Daniel Germain, President and Founder of the Quebec Breakfast Club, hopes this campaign will help children everywhere: “We are very proud to partner with National Bank, whose expertise and branch network are key elements to the Club’s continued growth. Giving one of these games to your children or grandchildren this holiday season will not only make them happy, it will also lend a hand to thousands of other young people you’ve never met and who, thanks to you, will now have a better chance at succeeding in life.”
Proceeds raised during this activity will be used not only to help us feed thousands of children, but also to help some of them take part in exciting outings and meet with prominent citizens. The goal of all these activities is to foster respect for others, self-esteem and cooperation among young people. “At the Club, we believe that to grow up healthy, kids need protein and vitamins as well as confidence, dreams and inspiration. That is why your contribution is so important to us,” Mr. Germain added.
