National Bank – Proud partner of the 24th Défi sportif

Montreal, 28 March 2007 -

National Bank is proud to support the Défi sportif for the fifth consecutive year and to encourage disabled athletes in their quest for excellence through its association with the National Bank Champions of the Defi Sportif.

“I am thrilled to be honorary chair of the 2007 Défi sportif,” stated David Pinsonneault, Vice-President – Commercial Banking, Specialized Groups at National Bank. “I firmly believe in the importance of an event that gives athletes with disabilities an opportunity to surpass their personal limitations and succeed.”

National Bank’s partnership with Défi sportif is a prime example of the importance it places on diversity and inclusion. The Bank is honoured to be associated with an event that showcases the talents of persons with disabilities, which in turn promotes their social integration and improves public perception. It also plays a central role in raising the awareness of Bank employees about the integration of persons with disabilities in the workplace.

In 2006, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave $19.5 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
