National Bank Bursary and Summer Employment Program: a student from the École de technologie supérieure is honoured

Montreal, 12 July 2007 -

National Bank is proud to present a $2,000 bursary and 12-week paid summer job to Marc Tousignant as a part of the 18th edition of its bursary and summer job program for post-secondary students with a physical or sensory disability.

Mr. Tousignant was selected from among several candidates by a jury made up of university administrators and representatives from service organizations for persons with disabilities. He is currently majoring in software engineering at the École de technologie supérieure. In addition to offering him financial support, the National Bank Bursary and Summer Employment Program will enable him to gain work experience in his field of study.

Since the program was launched in 1989, more than 50 college and university students with a physical or sensory disability have been able to develop their skills in a professional environment. Recipients acquire stimulating work experience in an area related to their studies. This program also raises awareness among the Bank’s employees of the realities of living with a disability.
