National Bank Financial Group proud to be a partner of the Quebec Week for the Disabled
Montreal, 31 May 2010 -
Recognized for its best practices in promoting diversity, National Bank Financial Group is proud to be a partner of the Quebec Week for the Disabled, which will be held from June 1 to 7. The program for this week includes a day dedicated to employment.
This week is a great opportunity to raise Quebecers’ awareness of the importance of respecting people’s differences. It is also an excellent way to help the public better understand the challenges faced by persons with disabilities with a view to facilitating their integration in schools, the workplace and society. A number of activities aimed at promoting the integration and employment of persons with disabilities have been scheduled throughout the event.
National Bank Financial Group is committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive, non-discriminatory work environment and accommodating individuals with special needs. Being inclusive and valuing the contribution of each employee, including those with disabilities, is a priority for the Financial Group, which stands by the motto: “What makes you unique makes us strong!”
Every year for over 20 years, the Financial Group has helped people with functional limitations pursue their post-secondary education by offering them financial support and relevant work experience. The Bursary and Summer Employment Program for students with functional limitations also gives employees valuable insight into the reality of living with a disability.
“Diversity is an integral part of our corporate culture and a great source of wealth for National Bank Financial Group. We have seen first-hand how embracing diversity, whether cultural, generational or talent-based, can lead to new and innovative solutions to business challenges and is therefore an important lever for development,” said Lynn Jeanniot, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at National Bank Financial Group.
Through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank Financial Group helps support hundreds of organizations across Canada. It focuses primarily on four main areas of activity—health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach—with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
