National Bank Financial Group launches one of the leading private initiatives related to financial litteracy in Quebec
Montreal, 21 September 2010 -
Today, National Bank Financial Group announced the launch of an interactive financial literacy platform – the Internet site called Clearfacts.ca (Jecomprends.ca is the French equivalent). The announcement was made during a press briefingat the Grande Bibliothèque du Québec.
Alexandre Bilodeau, gold medalist in the moguls event at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. World champion and a finance university student, and Sophie Ducharme, television host, notary and Vice-President – Trusts and advisory services at National Bank Trust, have agreed to be the ambassadors for this new platform, which is designed to help you make informed decisions to improve your financial well-being.
“The way I see it, sports and finances are pretty similar. In order for it to pay off, you’ve got to put in the effort. Because money is like talent, having it is one thing – making it work for you is another. That’s where the importance of having a good coach comes in,” candidly said Alexandre Bilodeau.
“We are proud of the participation of our ambassadors who, each in their own way, enhance the scope of our initiative. At National Bank Financial Group, promoting financial education is nothing new. Our employees have been volunteering to help young people and young entrepreneurs for years. Our financial advisors spend hundreds of hours every year explaining and demystifying the world of finance. Today, the Financial Group has gone one step further by giving the community a platform that reflects the dynamic and innovative image of its ambassadors,” added Sylvie Roy, Vice-President – Corporate Marketing and Communications at National Bank Financial Group.
