National Bank Financial Group Supports the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce

Montreal, 24 September 2010 -

National Bank Financial Group is proud to announce it has signed a partnership agreement with the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship to support the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce. The Financial Group is the main partner of this unique new educational institution and, as such, is contributing $750,000.

As the only school for business leaders in Canada, the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce is dedicated to providing training to up-and-coming entrepreneurs. All programs will be delivered by experienced business people so that future leaders can be groomed more quickly to take on the role of decision makers.

“National Bank Financial Group supports education by taking a series of positive actions designed to foster a desire to learn and give students access to the resources necessary for their development. The Financial Group also supports companies involved in a variety of industries and has even developed extensive expertise in some of them. This partnership is a great way to show that we are firmly committed to companies’ economic and social development,” said Louis Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank Financial Group.

The Financial Group has committed to supporting the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce for five years and thereby encouraging aspiring business people to achieve their dreams.

This avant-garde school promotes dynamic interaction between members of Quebec’s elite business leaders and students. At the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce, National Bank Financial Group is contributing to innovative and ambitious initiatives that use new technologies. This important sponsorship will be used to:

  • educate students by having experts contribute to courses and share their knowledge through videoconferencing;
  • support students financially through two $10,000 scholarships to be awarded to graduates to help them carry out a project for their business;
  • provide a state-of-the-art classroom for students in the main building: the Banque Nationale room;
  • build and set up the school;
  • host numerous events throughout the year

Through its donations and sponsorship program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank Financial Group helps support hundreds of organizations across Canada. It focuses primarily on four main areas of activity – health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach – with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
