National Bank Financial Group donates $30,000 to L’Arrêt-Source
Montreal, 13 October 2010 -
National Bank Financial Group is pleased to donate $30,000 over two years to L’Arrêt-Source for its financing campaign. The highlight event is the annual benefit evening to raise money for the shelter. This year, the event will be held on Wednesday, December 1st at the TELUS Theatre and will pay tribute to Marie Denise Pelletier, the organization’s spokesperson for the past 15 years.
L’Arrêt-Source is a shelter for young women aged 18 to 30 who are in difficulty. Located in Montreal's Ahuntsic district, it nevertheless serves the entire province of Quebec. Its mission is to offer a social integration program for young women in difficulty, as well as the support and guidance these women need to become independent. A well-known fact about L’Arrêt-Source is that it is the only organization in Quebec that provides shelter for up to two years to young women, who are in difficulty.
The financial support of its various partners is essential to the survival of L’Arrêt-Source and the pursuit of its mission. National Bank Financial Group plays a leading role in the organization’s development not only through its donations, but also the unwavering support of Denis Gauthier, Senior Vice-President and National Director at National Bank Financial Group. Since 2008, Denis is Co-Chair of the annual fundraising campaign, which this year (2010-2011) has an objective of $450,000.
For over 45 years, National Bank Financial Group has maintained an active presence in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough through four service points and, during that period, has granted millions of dollars in financing to the borough’s citizens and businesses. The Financial Group plays a leading role in the region’s economic development.
A company’s economic development is closely tied to social development and quality of life for the members of a community. Therefore, supporting education, community outreach and health are ingrained in the culture of National Bank Financial Group and its employees. Every year, National Bank Financial Group invests millions of dollars, i.e., more than 20% of its total donations budget, in various community outreach initiatives.
