National Bank Financial Group to donate over $20,000 to four organizations in Outaouais

Gatineau, 15 October 2010 -

During his visit to Gatineau yesterday, Louis Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank Financial Group, donated over $20,000 to four local organizations.

The “Fondation Jean-Claude Branchaud”, whose mission is to organize fundraising activities to benefit various organizations, received $5,000 to help them make purchases to enhance the well-being of the community at large.

A sum of $5,000 has been presented to the “Fondation Santé de Papineau”, which holds fundraising campaigns to help improve the care and services provided at health care institutions in Papineau through the purchase of specialized equipment.

In addition, “La Maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie” also received $5,000 to help the organization house and support terminally ill patients and their loved ones so that they can live out their remaining time in comfort and dignity.

Finally, the Financial Group donated $5,500 to the Canadian Association for Familial Ataxias – “Fondation Claude St-Jean”   to help it promote, protect and develop the  economic, social, professional and recreational interests of ataxic persons, as well as further research into the causes and effects of the disease.

Through its donations and sponsorship program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank Financial Group helps support hundreds of organizations across Canada. It focuses primarily on four main areas of activity – health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach – with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
