Redemption for cash of 500 million dollars Series 5 Medium Term Notes
Montreal, 6 September 2011 -
National Bank of Canada (TSX: NA) announced today its intention to redeem, for the purpose of cancellation, all of its Series 5 Medium Term Notes, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 for 100% of the principal amount of notes. The regular interest due in respect of the notes on November 2, 2011, will be paid in the normal course, leaving no accrued and unpaid interest on the notes at the time of their redemption. There is currently 500 million dollars principal amount of notes outstanding.
This redemption, funded solely from the Bank’s general funds, is part of the Bank’s capital management program. The notice of redemption with the letter of transmittal will be promptly sent to the holders of notes.
