National Bank donates $412,854 to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation

Montreal, 7 October 2011 -

National Bank made a major donation of $412,854 to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation at a very special evening held on October 5, 2011 at the Bar-Lounge Porte Rouge, which turned to pink for the occasion.

Proud to be a partner in hope with the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, thanks to National Bank’s Allure MasterCard holders, more than $2.4 million has been donated to the Foundation since the launch of the Allure card in 2005. These donations aim to make a significant difference by contributing to research, promoting breast health through education and awareness, and offering support to women living with breast cancer as well as their loved ones.

"At National Bank, we are particularly attuned to women’s concerns. Unfortunately, breast cancer is still affecting too many women. One in nine women will be diagnosed with cancer during her lifetime. With the Allure MasterCard credit card, we are offering a generous payment solution that gives clients the best of both worlds: attractive discounts on the purchase of gift cards exchangeable at Allure partner stores, and a contribution to a cause that touches everyone", said Danny Déry, Vice President, Retail Products, National Bank.

Allure is a credit card designed for women who want to make a difference by contributing to breast cancer prevention. First, a percentage of the purchases made by cardholders is donated annually to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation1. In addition, cardholders can enjoy a 10% discount on the purchase of gift cards at www.yourallure.ca, which can be used at Allure partners. To learn all the benefits, visit www.nbc.ca/allurecard.
