PROTECTION PLANS AND INCAPACITY MANDATES

We use mechanisms provided under the Quebec Civil Code to protect you and those who may not be able to manage their own assets.

If you are the mandatary, tutor or curator to someone who is no longer able to manage his or her own affairs, you can count on our Protection Plan Administration Service for help. We can also assist you in drawing up a mandate (also known as a living will) to prevent others from making decisions for you in the event you yourself become incapacitated at some time in the future.

TUTORSHIP OR CURATORSHIP FOR A PERSON OF FULL LEGAL AGE?

A tutorship is a plan that provides protection to a person of full legal age who may be partially or temporarily incapacitated, whereas a curatorship applies if a person is totally or permanently incapacitated. [Details]

MANDATE IN CASE OF INCAPACITY

This legal document, which can be prepared by a notary or given in the presence of witnesses, allows you to designate one or more persons to take care of you and manage your assets if you are no longer able to do so. [Details]
