Community outreach for efficient action

We help a great number of individuals across the country by financially supporting community outreach programs. We pay particular attention to organizations that provide basic physical and psychological support to children and disadvantaged persons.

Free The Children

National Bank’s five-point partnership plan with Free The Children, is part of National Bank’s desire to influence the trajectory of young people so that they can contribute to society, become the leaders of tomorrow and build their communities.

  • We Day events National Bank co-presents We Day events that take place annually in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. These events consist of an entire day of inspirational concerts and conferences, in which young people from across Canada get together to explore their passion for social issues, celebrate their successes and to make friends with others who share their vision of a better world.
  • La Tournée Impact Jeunesse Each year, children of National Bank employees and customers are invited to register their school for one of the conferences that are part of the Tournée Impact Jeunesse. These conferences sensitize young people to world social issues and encourage them to take community action by participating in Free the Children programs or developing their own volunteer project.
  • Me to We Awards National Bank also contributes to an awards program for young volunteers who have worked serving their communities and who have improved the lives of other persons.
  • Setting up programming in Quebec Already well known in English Canada, Free the Children has arrived in Quebec. As a founding partner in the Quebec chapter of Free the Children, National Bank participates in setting up activities in the province, and actively contributes to promoting this organization of young Quebecers.
  • National Bike Ride for Youth Eight provinces, 5,000 kilometres and one good cause: make dreams a reality. Cyclists across Canada will be taking to the road to raise funds for Free the Children’s Big Dreamer Award. This program is open to all young people committed to making a difference in this world. It supports the organization’s international aid programs through the Adopt a Village initiative. Cyclists will ride relays from one ocean to another to raise funds that will finance their projects.

Centraide

For over 30 years, National Bank has been participating in a large annual funding campaign for Centraide. In addition to its institutional donation, thousands of Bank employees and retirees show their generosity by donating to and collecting for Centraide and the organizations it supports. This generosity combined with the institutional donation has seen the Bank twice awarded the Prix Solidaire, appui global by Centraide of Greater Montréal.

Kids Help Phone

National Bank is happy to donate to Kids Help Phone. This organization which provides free consulting services by phone or e-mails, responds to thousands of young people across Canada on a daily basis, whatever their problem or preoccupation.
