National Bank : Canada’s leaders Tennis partner
National Bank Financial Group is proud to participate in the development of tennis in Canada and provide essential support to rising stars, more specifically in Quebec and Ontario.

Our goal is to encourage excellence as well as the determination and development of our athletes, in addition to helping tennis stars attend the major Canadian tournaments. And this is only a beginning, since under the terms of a major agreement withTennis Canada, our commitment to this sport will only grow in the years to come.

    Rogers Cup presented by National Bank
    A focal point of the prestigious ATP and WTA Masters Circuit, the Rogers Cup draws large crowds each year. This annual event held in the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal and the Rexall Centre in Toronto attracts the best tennis players in the world and creates an atmosphere that is unique to the Circuit.     Circuit Banque Nationale
    The partnership between Tennis Canada and National Bank Financial Group extends well beyond the Rogers Cup. National Bank is the title sponsor of the development circuit, consisting of professional tennis circuits in Quebec and Ontario:

    • Three Futures tournaments, each with bursaries worth US $15,000;
    • Two Challenger tournaments, offering bursaries worth US $25,000 to US $50,000.

    “Futures and Challenger tournaments are the first level of competition on the professional circuit,” says Eugène Lapierre, Vice-President of professional tennis in Quebec and Tournament Director of the Rogers Cup. “Before the arrival of the National Bank Circuit, there weren’t enough tournaments being organized in Quebec.”

    Granby National Bank Challenger
    One of the region’s favourite sports events, the Granby National Bank Challenger is one of the few professional tennis tournaments for both men and women and features players ranked in the top 100 to 400 positions in the world. Since 2003, National Bank has been proud to contribute to one of the most accessible professional tennis tournaments in the country.

    The International Junior Tennis Open of Repentigny
    The International Junior Tennis Open is one of the most important Junior tennis meets in the country. As the event’s official sponsor, the Financial Group recognizes the extent to which the International Open is held in great esteem beyond the borders of Quebec and Canada.

    Tennis ball recovery program
    The Financial Group has renewed its program to recover old tennis balls for a fifth consecutive year. When placed on the legs of students’ chairs and desks, the balls reduce classroom noise levels and promote a better learning environment. The program has seen some 375,000 balls recovered, distributed and transported, free of charge, across the province.

    Les Petits As Banque Nationale
    The National Bank Young Aces program was begun in 2007 by Tennis Canada as a way to identify talent among young tennis players. To date, over 1,000 young people have participated in talent search clinics where players as young as six or seven years can enrol in a 60-hour training program and learn to sharpen their skills under the supervision of qualified trainers. The goal is to provide better opportunities for their development.

    National Bank Tennis Excellence Fund
    The Financial Group believes in encouraging Quebec’s young tennis hopefuls and helping them attain their personal and professional goals. To this end, the National Bank Tennis Excellence Fund supports our young athletes by awarding $50,000 in bursaries each year.

    We congratulate past winners, including Marie-Ève Pelletier, Stéphanie Dubois, Aleksandra Wozniak, Valérie Tétreault, Eugénie Bouchard and Françoise Abanda.

    National Bank Tennis PLUS program with Wilson
    The Tennis PLUS entry-level program is offered across the province in cooperation with tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis Québec. For a modest fee of $69.95 per person (before taxes), participants obtain:

    • a top-quality Wilson tennis racquet
    • a box of Wilson tennis balls
    • four hours of lessons
    • eight hours of supervised tennis

Montreal Canadien hockey club
Since 2010, National Bank Financial Group has been associated with this 100-year-old team as a major partner in the Bell Sports Complex, the Canadiens’ training site, as well as the Bell Centre. In this way, the Bank celebrates an institution in the history of the sport and confirms its commitment to the fans.

Impact de Montréal
Since it first began in 1993, the Montreal Impact soccer team, winner of the USL-1 series in 2009, and its reserve team have been able to count on National Bank Financial Group’s financial support as a major partner.

Fondation for Athletic Excellence
The Foundation for Athletic Excellence supports amateur athletes across Quebec with a range of bursary programs. Through a major contribution from the Financial Group, the Foundation is able to grant 25 bursaries to promising athletes and sponsor the annual university sports gala.

Easter Seals Waves Regatta
Each year, Easter Seals of British Columbia organizes a recreational sailing race to raise funds for young people with motor problems and handicaps as well as their families. National Bank Financial Group is the event’s title sponsor, thereby helping to fund a facility that provides accommodation for the parents of children undergoing treatment.
