10 helpful tips for planning a trip :

Notify the MasterCard call centre of your trip (1-888-622-2783) or by E-mail so that a “travel notice” can be placed in your file to prevent your card from being blocked.
Check the expiry dates and credit limits of your credit card, as well as the withdrawal limits on your Client Card.
Use the Client Card limit management tool to personalize your daily withdrawal limits in order to reduce the risk in case of fraud.
To ensure a second access to an ATM, in case your Client Card would not work during the trip, you can activate your credit card's PIN by calling 514-394-5555 / 1-888-835-6281 or E-mail us.

Before you leave, check whether the country you'll be visiting has the following international payment networks:
- Locate a currency exchange counter to purchase foreign currencies;
- Interac®1, Maestro®2 or NYCE®3 for Client Card purchases;
- Cash advances or withdrawals from automated banking machines at Cirrus®4 or Interac networks. Withdrawals only at THE EXCHANGE®5 network.
- Where and How to use your travelers checks?;

Make a list of the cards you'll be bringing with you and of the issuing companies' telephone numbers so that you can contact them in case of loss or theft.
Arrange payment of your monthly bills during your absence (pre-authorized debits and payments).
Make a photocopy of your passport and give it to a close friend or family member in case you run into problems while abroad.
Keep receipts for credit card purchases so that you can validate the amounts charged on your statement when you return from your trip.
Be selective about the cards you bring along and avoid bringing too many credit or debit cards.
