Periodic Investing

Periodic investment is a tactic that uses regularly-scheduled debits from your account. There are a number advantages to using this tactic:

  • it's easier to contribute a little bit to your RRSP on a regular basis than it is to make a large lump-sum contribution once a year,
  • it's effective for all types of personal budgets,
  • it's the most efficient way to save money.

You can choose between two types of investments...

Guaranteed-Capital Investments (Systematic Savings RRSP)

  • Your initial investment amount is 100% guaranteed.
  • The more you invest, the higher your interest rate.
  • Interest rate is calculated based on your daily balance.
  • Transferable at any time.
  • Minimum $10.00 investment.

Mutual Funds (National Bank Mutual Funds Periodic Investment Plan)

  • Flexible, diversified and actively-managed investments.
  • Amounts are debited automatically from your bank account.
  • Take advantage of dollar-cost averaging.
  • Transferable at any time.
  • Minimum investment of $25.00 .
