National Bank supports the Montreal Chamber Music Festival

Montreal, 1 June 2004 -

National Bank is proud to be associated with the 9th edition of the Montreal Chamber Music Festival and sponsor the Soirée Cabaret, to be held on June 8 at the historic Chalet de la Montagne.  The event will be chaired by Gisèle Desrochers, Senior Vice-President – Human Resources and Operations at National Bank.

“I am honoured to help promote this event.  Culture is both a national treasure and a mirror of our society.  That is why we encourage Canadian artists and support the arts by funding a wide range of cultural institutions such as the Montreal Chamber Music Festival,” commented Ms. Desrochers.

National Bank is committed to playing an important role in the communities it serves.   Every year, it contributes almost $10 million through donations and sponsorships to education, health, culture and community assistance organizations.

Bas de vignette:
The picture shows a cello solo fills the air, rising from a sea of ferns. What better setting for the Montreal Chamber Music Festival than the top of Mount Royal? First held in 1995, this festival of international calibre returns every spring to bring town and country together at the Chalet on Montreal's Mount Royal. Since 1998, the festival has also been delighting music-lovers with chamber music concerts in some of Montreal's most elegant and historic settings.

The National Bank has been a partner of the Montreal Chamber Music Festival since 1998.
