National Bank investing over $800,000 in Rouyn-Noranda
National Bank today announced plans to invest more than $800,000 in a brand new branch in Rouyn-Noranda that will bring all personal and commercial banking services under one roof.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building, Luc Papineau, Senior Vice-President – Sales and Personal Banking at National Bank, said, “This new investment in Rouyn-Noranda will strengthen the Bank's presence in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, where it has been an important economic partner for more than 80 years.” He added, “Consolidating the Bank's many different services will be a boon for customers in that they will be able to carry out all their financial transactions in one place and benefit from the expertise of even more financial advisors.”
The branch, which will be built at the corner of Gamble and Avenue du Lac by contractor Élie Janhevich, will be a two-storey, 10,000 square-foot structure. The Bank will occupy 7,000 square feet. Personal Banking services will be offered on the first floor and Commercial Banking services on the second. In addition to its prime location in downtown Rouyn-Noranda with a breathtaking view of Lake Osisko, the modern building has been designed with customer convenience in mind. It will also have two automatic banking machines, a large parking area and will continue to offer extended business hours.
With 11 service outlets, 154 employees and a specialized sales force of financial planners and retirement planning advisors, National Bank is the largest banking institution in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. Through its involvement in community organizations, especially those in health and education, such as the Fondation de l'Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, the Maison des soins palliatifs, the Bank plays a key role in the region.
