National Bank Helps Raise $57,775 for the Quebec Cystic Fibrosis Association

Montreal, 10 September 2004 -

This year, Kathleen Zicat, Vice-President at National Bank, was the honorary chairperson of the fifth edition of the Quebec Cystic Fibrosis Association Business Women's Golf Tournament. This event helped raise more than $57,775 for the Quebec Cystic Fibrosis Association. In addition to advancing medical research into cystic fibrosis, the funds raised will be used to provide support for specialized clinics.

“Cystic fibrosis is a fatal genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive tract. As a representative of National Bank, I am proud that the proceeds from this tournament will fund medical research to find a cure for this terrible affliction.   We need to help the people affected by cystic fibrosis as well as their families fulfill their dream of one day living illness free,” said Kathleen Zicat, Vice-President – Sales and Personal Banking, Laval/Northern and Western Quebec, at National Bank.

More than 130 business women, some 30 of whom helped organize the event, participated in this very successful tournament, held at the Club de golf Le Blainvillier in Blainville on August 23, 2004.

Each year, thousands of National Bank employees are active in community organizations, individually or on behalf of the Bank. This golf tournament, held in conjunction with business women's clubs from the Greater Montreal area, reflects the commitment of National Bank personnel to their communities.
