National Bank teams up with the Randonnée Vélo Santé

Montreal, 25 July 2007 -

National Bank is pleased to be associated with the 4th edition of the Randonnée Vélo Santé bicycle ride, to be held on August 24, 25 and 26. This 300-kilometre benefit ride is intended to raise money for healthcare improvements and encourage the extension of the Route Verte bicycle network on the North Shore.

The healthcare goal of this year’s event is to replace colon cancer screening equipment and purchase an operating table for the Centre de santé et services sociaux de Manicouagan.

The event will also help to promote the extension of the Route Verte on the North Shore. This provincial cycling network includes more than 4,300 kilometres of trails linking 16 regions and 320 municipalities throughout Quebec.

In 2006, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave $19.5 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
