Montreal, 20 June 2005 -

National Bank is pleased to announce its involvement with the 2005 Orford Festival as a partner and presenter of a benefit concert to be held on July 9, 2005. For more than 50 years, the Orford Arts Centre has opened its doors to great musicians and music lovers during the summer. The Orford Festival 2005, which runs from June 23 to August 13, 2005, is one of the most important cultural events in Quebec.

“The Orford Festival is a prestigious event that is recognized for the quality of both its musical program and its visual art exhibitions, and attracts music lovers to a tremendously charming location,” said Michel Labonté, Senior Vice-President – Finance, Technology and Corporate Affairs and honorary chairman of the benefit concert. “National Bank is thrilled to be involved and to contribute to the promotion of classical music and the dissemination of visual arts.”

In 2004, donations made by the Bank and its subsidiaries, sponsorships, fundraising projects at the branch level and benefit events organized for community groups contributed $ 12 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
