National Bank gives $100,000 to Université du Québec en Outaouais

Montreal, 5 September 2006 -

National Bank is pleased to support the “Imagine UQO” fundraising campaign of Université du Québec en Outaouais with a $100,000 donation.

The Bank’s contribution will enable UQO to continue to strengthen its presence and reputation in the community as well as provide access to university studies.

“National Bank and UQO share the common goal of encouraging the education of young adults who will become tomorrow’s leaders and to whom we look to shape our future. The economic development of the regions and the country as a whole will depend largely on their education, which is why we are proud to encourage students to undertake and complete post-secondary studies,” explained Kathleen Zicat, Vice-President – Sales and Personal Banking, Laval/Northern and Western Quebec at National Bank.

In 2005, National Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events gave $18 million to hundreds of Canadian healthcare, education, community outreach and cultural organizations.
