National Bank’s International sector donates $10,000 to Doctors Without Borders

Montreal, 10 March 2008 -

National Bank announced today that it is donating $10,000 to Doctors Without Borders, an international medical relief organization that assists populations in distress or in war situations and victims of natural disasters, without discriminating against race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

This sum will be used by the organization to help meet the urgent needs of various projects around the world.

“Doctors Without Borders, as well as being open to the needs of people around the world, also plays an active role in healthcare and community outreach, two areas that we believe in strongly at the Bank,” said Peter D. Thompson, Vice-President – International at National Bank.

In 2007, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave more than $20 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
