National Bank Financial Group pays tribute to a local agri-businesswoman

Montreal, 2 September 2008 -

National Bank Financial Group proudly presented its Catherine Crolo Award to Céline Dumont, co-owner of the Ferme Dumont dairy farm in St-Alexandre, Quebec. The award was presented to Ms. Dumont during the Fête des récoltes held on August 31 at the Maison Saint-Gabriel of the Congrégation Notre-Dame in Montreal.

The Bank paid tribute to Ms. Dumont for her energy, entrepreneurial skills and tireless dedication to achieving her goals. The winner also received a $500 RRSP contribution.

The Catherine Crolo Award was created by National Bank in honour of the first businesswoman of New France, Catherine Crolo, who in 1658 became the first intendant of the Maison Saint-Gabriel of the Congrégation Notre-Dame, where she cultivated the land, worked as a tenant farmer and managed crops.

To mark the 10th anniversary of this award, the previous award recipients were invited to the ceremony to highlight their determination and entrepreneurial spirit one more time.

National Bank offers the many family SMEs in the agricultural sector personalized services to meet their specific financial management and administration needs. In Quebec, more than 100 specialized advisors, most of them accredited agronomists, are able to understand and property advice farm owners in order to ensure the sustainability and sound management of their businesses.
