National Bank Financial Group donates $75,000 to the Fondation des Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec

Montreal, 9 December 2008 -

National Bank Financial Group is proud to donate $75,000 to the Fondation des Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec, an organization that provides financial support to the Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ), including the Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse (OFQJ), the Office Québec-Amériques pour la jeunesse (OQAJ) and the Office Québec Wallonie Bruxelles pour la jeunesse (OQWBJ).

These three organizations support young Quebecers (age 18-35) seeking to carry out a project abroad to further their professional and personal development.  Through its activities, the Fondation LOJIQ promotes the acquisition and enhancement of learning about culture, entrepreneurship, sustainable development and community involvement. The Fondation fosters the development of young people’s business and personal skills in an international context as they relate to their professional or academic career path.

The donation from the Bank is specifically intended to fund entrepreneurship projects providing support for young entrepreneurs and individuals with a business start-up plan. The program is geared to young adults whose project is in the pre-start-up, start-up or business consolidation phase and who are planning to pursue professional opportunities abroad in order to develop their business’s activities, products and markets or exchange practices that would be beneficial to their business.

In 2007, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, National Bank Financial Group gave more than $20 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.
