National Bank Financial Group launches a new scholarship program: Women in Finance
On this International Women’s Day, National Bank Financial Group is launching a new scholarship program dedicated to women in finance. Open to third-year business administration undergraduates who are registering in a Master’s program in or related to finance at any Canadian universities, the Women in Finance scholarship program consists of three bursaries representing a total of $20,000 for the 2010-2011 academic year.
In addition, the three selected candidates will each be paired with a Managing Director from the National Bank Financial Markets group who will advise them throughout their studies.
This unique initiative in the finance sector will help to identify skilled, talented, innovative and ambitious women in finance and encourage them to pursue postgraduate studies in a capital market related field, while enabling them to get a more in-depth knowledge of the Financial Group.
National Bank Financial Group reiterates its commitment to the integration and promotion of women at all organizational levels. According to the 2008 Employment Equity Report of the Canadian Bankers Association, National Bank Financial Group ranks first among the six largest Canadian banks for the overall representation of women within its workforce, where women account for 73% of all employees.
Potential candidates to the Women in Finance scholarships must be legally entitled to work in Canada and preferably bilingual. To apply to the Women in Finance bursary program, candidates must complete and forward all documents specified at www.nbc.ca/scholarship before April 23, 2010.
