The 17th edition of the SMEs of the National Bank: 2010 provincial winners
On Friday, National Bank Financial Group unveiled the names of the winners of the 17th edition of the SMEs of the National Bank recognition program. The theme of the ceremonies for the 2010 SMEs of the National Bank was “Standing out today, Growing tomorrow.”
“National Bank Financial Group is particularly proud to recognize the exceptional performance of companies that have made their mark through their diligent work and impressive results,” stated Réjean Lévesque, Executive Vice-President – Personal and Commercial Banking at National Bank Financial Group. “For these reasons, I would like to congratulate this year’s finalists for their outstanding performance.”
The SMEs of the National Bank is a way for the Financial Group to highlight the exceptional performance of Quebec companies and acknowledge leaders in four categories: SME, Small Business, Agribusiness SME and Export SME.
The awards ceremony took place in Montreal and was attended by more than 200 people, including the finalists, National Bank Financial Group representatives and leaders of the business community. The Gold winners in each category are:
Small Business category: Algosys Inc. Quebec City-based Algosys is known for designing and developing software products and solutions that allow businesses to achieve greater productivity through optimum process control. The company has designed and marketed two types of software intended primarily for its mining and refining sector clients in more than 20 countries.
SME category: Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes de Matane ltée Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes de Matane began selling cooked and smoked ham, salami and pepperoni under their Gaspésien brand in 1981. Since then, their product line has continued to expand and is being sold in a growing number of stores.
Agribusiness SME category: Willy Haeck et fils inc. Located in Montérégie, Willy Haeck et fils specializes in ornamental horticulture and has won numerous awards recognizing the excellence of its products. Since it was founded 50 years ago, the company has expanded its greenhouses from 2,450 to over 390,000 square feet.
Export SME category: PAD/InkSpec. Based in St-Bruno, PAD/Inkspec designs and produces specialized innovative equipment for the flexographic printing and rotogravure industry. Its certifications and strategic alliances with major printing press manufacturers have paved the way for the company to enter new markets.
In addition, the Jury’s Choice award went to Nutrisoya Foods Inc. The jury was impressed with Nutrisoya Foods Inc. because of its high-quality products and innovative spirit. The company has grown substantially thanks to its continued efforts to market its products, which focus on a healthy lifestyle and diet.
