National Bank Announces Appointments Within its Management Team
Today, National Bank announced appointments within its management team. These are part of a rigorous succession planning process and will ensure the continuity of the Bank’s recognized business best practices for financial and risk management.
Patricia Curadeau-Grou, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President – Finance, Risk and Treasury will become Executive Vice-President – Risk Management effective August 29, 2011, an area for which she is currently responsible. She will remain a member of the Executive Committee of the Office of the President, will oversee special projects, and retain her responsibilities with regard to mergers and acquisitions. On June 4, 2012, Ms. Curadeau-Grou will then become Strategic Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer, and as such will continue to actively participate in the Bank’s success and development by making it benefit from her vast expertise. During the next year, Ms. Curadeau-Grou will oversee the smooth and orderly transition of her responsibilities to the following executives and their teams.
Ghislain Parent will become Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President – Finance and Treasury on August 29, 2011. In that capacity, he will be a member of the Office of the President and responsible for all accounting, finance, corporate treasury, strategic planning and internal audit activities, including taxation, investor relations and financial governance. Mr. Parent has been Senior Vice-President – Internal Audit since July 2010.
William Bonnell will become Executive Vice-President – Risk Management on June 4, 2012, when Patricia Curadeau-Grou will become Strategic Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer. He will also be a member of the Office of the President and responsible for the modelling, assessment and management of all credit, market and non-financial risks, as well as corporate compliance. He has been Senior Vice-President – Risk Management since November 1, 2010.

Profiles of the Executives Concerned
As Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President – Finance, Risk and Treasury, Patricia Curadeau-Grou oversees the Risk Management, Finance, Taxation and Investor Relations, Corporate Treasury, Internal Audit, Financial Accounting, Financial Performance Management and Strategy sectors. Since joining the Bank in 1991, she has held various management positions, including functions in the risk management, bank credit and international fields. During her tenure, Ms. Curadeau-Grou has created a strong risk management-based culture and a rigorous and powerful financial management framework. Ms. Curadeau-Grou has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from McGill University and since 2007 has been a member of the Women’s Executive Network Hall of Fame for Canada’s most powerful women.
Ghislain Parent joined National Bank in July 2010 as Senior Vice-President – Internal Audit and is responsible for the Internal Audit and Fraud Risk Management departments of the Bank and its subsidiaries. Mr. Parent has more than 20 years of experience in the financial institutions sector. Before joining National Bank, he was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and President of CDP Financial Inc. Mr. Parent is a Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
William Bonnell, who joined National Bank in 2001, is currently Senior Vice-President – Risk Management and is responsible for overseeing all the financial group’s risks as well as corporate compliance. During his 20 years in the banking industry, he has held various functions in the risk management, capital markets and international fields. Mr. Bonnell has an MBA (International) from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University.
