National Bank and the Comité provincial de concertation et de développement de l'industrie du taxi Announce a New Partnership
National Bank and the Comité provincial de concertation et de développement de l’industrie du taxi (CPCDIT) have reached an agreement, under which prepaid Cool Taxi coupons will be available for purchase starting today in the Bank's 335 branches across Quebec, and can be used in any taxi in the province. The goal of Cool Taxi is to counter drinking and driving among young people.
In addition to the distribution agreement, National Bank is donating $15,000 to support Cool Taxi awareness campaigns.
"This unique project allows us to add a new component to our partnerships that help young people and foster their development," explained Kathleen Zicat, Senior Vice President - Sales and Service, Personal Banking of National Bank. "It was therefore only natural for the Bank to place its branch network at Cool Taxi's disposal free of charge. Anyone will now be able to come into one of our branches anywhere in Quebec and purchase Cool Taxi coupons available in denominations of $5 and $10."
Moreover, as part of this initiative, holders of a National Bank MasterCard with an À la carte rewards plan will also be able to exchange their points online for Cool Taxi coupons.
"This partnership with National Bank to distribute Cool Taxi coupons makes them even more accessible to young people, who we encourage to make responsible choices," added Dory Saliba, Vice President of the Comité provincial de concertation et de développement de l’industrie du taxi.
Cool Taxi was created and developed by the CPCDIT further to a challenge from the fathers of three girls who were seriously injured in a car accident where speed, alcohol and recklessness combined to form a potentially deadly combination.
The partnership was announced with Nicola DiOrio, Michel Méthot and François Rozon—the three fathers responsible for the Cool Taxi concept—in attendance. Daniel Bouchard, General Manager of Cool Taxi and Sylvie Roy, Vice President - Corporate Marketing and Communications of National Bank were also present.
Every year, through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank helps support hundreds of organizations across Canada. It focuses primarily on four main areas of activity—health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach—with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
