National Bank to donate $50,000 to support victims in Lac-Mégantic
National Bank will donate $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the organization’s relief efforts for the victims in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec.
National Bank will also collect donations from the public in all its Canadian branches, from July 8 to August 9, 2013.
Cheques or donations should be made out to the "Canadian Red Cross, Lac-Mégantic Explosion." The Canadian Red Cross will issue tax receipts for all donations of $10 or more. All donations made at National Bank branches will be sent to the Canadian Red Cross to be used to provide immediate relief to the victims.
National Bank has also taken several relief measures, on a case-by-case basis, including payment deferrals, to support clients affected by the disaster. Clients may contact Customer Service at 1-888-483-5628.
The Bank is currently working to ensure that clients have access to banking services as soon as possible. A National Bank advisor is on hand at the Polyvalente Montignac school at 3409 Laval St. in Lac-Mégantic to answer questions and provide assistance during this difficult time.
