National Bank and its Employees Donate $2.7 million to Centraide/United Way
National Bank is very happy to contribute to the success of the 36th Centraide/United Way campaign by making a donation of $2.7 million. This amount represents donations made by current and retired Bank employees across Canada, as well as a corporate donation from National Bank.
This year, the Bank once again participated in the Centraide Soccer Cup, which it won, and took part in the game show La Guerre des clans – Spécial Centraide. By participating in these events, Bank representatives are demonstrating their commitment to the community in many different ways.
“As with many other initiatives that benefit Canadian organizations, the devotion of our employees and retirees to the cause of Centraide/United Way illustrates the depth of our institution's commitment to communities,” stated Louis Vachon, President and CEO of National Bank.
United Way/Centraide derives most of its funding from corporate fundraising campaigns like the one organized by the Bank each year. The substantial donation will enable organizations to improve the quality of life of those struggling with poverty and exclusion, and help build stronger communities.
Every year, through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank supports hundreds of organizations across Canada. It is particularly committed to supporting health, education, arts and culture, and community outreach, with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
