Women's Leadership Network
Launched in 2012, the Women's Leadership Network was created for women pursuing their careers at National Bank who wish to move up within the organization. Through mentorships and networking activities, members of the Women's Leadership Network are able to increase their knowledge of the Bank, expand their professional network and improve their leadership skills.
The Network is also aimed at promoting the business development of female clients. This initiative is a concrete solution for attracting and building retention among female employees, managers and clients today and tomorrow. Women in Financial Markets Scholarship
This initiative, the only one of its kind in the financial markets sector, encourages skilled and talented women to pursue graduate studies in a finance-related field, while providing them with the opportunity to get acquainted with our organization.
Selected candidates are awarded a scholarship and benefit from the mentorship of an officer from our Financial Markets group.
Women's representation on our board of directors
With seven women on its Board of Directors at April 2015, National Bank is a Canadian leader in terms of the representation of women on corporate boards.
In addition, the Bank is a signatory of the Catalyst Accord, which aims to increase the number of women on corporate boards of directors in Canada to at least 30% by 2022.
To turn words into action, the Bank has established clear guidelines to ensure that it meets this objective. The Bank is committed to ensuring that women make up half the nominees for director positions that become vacant. The Bank is proud to report that women currently represent 44% of its directors, making it one of Canada's top organizations in this regard.
Over the years, several female National Bank officers have made the list of Canada's most influential women. Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 awards, presented by the Toronto-based Women’s Executive Network, recognize the most influential women in senior management positions in Canada who are both actively engaged in their field and in their community.
