Notice to clients

On June 1, 2016, changes will be made to the pricing and agreements for our bank accounts as well as the maximum limits for withdrawals at automated banking machines.

On July 12, 2016, changes will be made to the pricing and agreements for our credit cards.

Details of these changes are provided in the Bank accounts and Credit cards sections below.

  • Opt for one of our banking packages or programs so that you can do multiple electronic transactions without having to pay service charges. (The number of included transactions depends on the package or program; flat monthly fees apply.)
  • Use a Client Card to pay for your purchases and withdraw cash in a single transaction at retail locations.
  • Pay more than one bill in a single transaction at automated banking machines or through our Digital Banking Solutions.

Changes to maximum limits for automated banking machine withdrawals

To offer you more flexibility, the maximum limits for withdrawals will be increased when our Client Card is used at automated banking machines.

Additional information

Starting October 1, 2016, only cards with chip technology will be accepted for debit transactions at point-of-sale terminals in Canada. For any matters concerning your Client Card, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tip for customizing your limits

Changes to the bank account agreement

Effective June 1, 2016, Section 11 of Part IV of the Agreement Governing Investment, Transaction and Margin Accounts will be amended and a new Section 12 will be inserted. The existing and amended versions of Section 11 as well as the new Section 12 are shown below.

  • Always make at least the minimum monthly payment on your credit card. Avoid late payments by signing up for the preauthorized debit service.
  • Regularly monitor your account and make your payments directly online.

Pricing for certain credit cards

The changes below impact the following credit cards: MC1, Regular, OVATION®1 Gold1, Allure®1, Escapade®1, Platinum, Edition®1, World MasterCard®3, World Elite MasterCard®3, Ultramar®4, Sunoco, No Fee Business, Platinum Business and PREMIA®1, including cards associated with a financial package or partner.

New service – Access to THE EXCHANGE®5 network

All our credit cards can be used to obtain cash advances and change PINs at participating automated banking machines that are part of THE EXCHANGE®5 network. The transaction fees in effect for cash advances apply.

To offer you more flexibility, the maximum limits for withdrawals will be increased when our credit cards are used at automated banking machines.

Change to the personal credit card agreement

Effective July 12, 2016, Section 24 of the personal credit card agreement will be amended. The existing and amended versions of the Section are shown below.

Please note that the agreement governing business credit cards, including the No Fee Business, Platinum Business and PREMIA®1 cards will be amended, effective July 12, 2016.
