  • Install an eligible digital wallet
  • Add an eligible National Bank card in accordance with the digital wallet's instructions
  • Pay for purchases at participating merchants in accordance with the digital wallet's instructions

By using a digital wallet, you agree to its terms of use.

2. ADDING/REMOVING A CARD

We can refuse to add a card, remove a card or suspend the use of a card if:

a) The card is not eligible
b) The account associated with the card is not in good standing
c) We detect suspicious activity on your account or your card
d) The applicable legislation changes or for any other reason we deem appropriate, entirely at our discretion

3. SECURITY

You are required to contact us immediately if your device (with a digital wallet installed on it) is lost or stolen or if the security of your device is compromised.

When you set up your digital wallet on a new device, be sure to delete all card data from your prior device.

Only your own fingerprints and passwords should be used to activate the digital wallet. You are responsible for the transactions carried out via your digital wallet.

We take reasonable measures to ensure the secure transmission of information related to your use of a card in a digital wallet. However, the digital wallet provider is responsible for the security of information provided to it or stored in the digital wallet. We are not responsible if there is a security breach affecting any information stored in or sent from a digital wallet.

You are prohibited from using a digital wallet on a device that you have reason to believe has had its security or integrity compromised (e.g., if the device has been "rooted" or "jailbroken" or had its security mechanisms bypassed). You will be solely liable for any losses, damages and expenses incurred as a result of your use of a digital wallet on a compromised device.

4. MAXIMUM PAYMENT AMOUNT

A maximum payment limit can be established. If the amount of a payment exceeds that limit, you will need to use your physical card to complete the transaction.

5. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may receive from or share with the digital wallet provider some of your information, primarily to determine your eligibility to use the digital wallet, allow you to sign up for and use the service, and prevent fraud. The digital wallet provider may collect your information, aggregate it with other information or make it anonymous and may use any such individual, aggregated or anonymous information for the purposes set out in its confidentiality policy or terms of use.

6. NO WARRANTY AND EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

We are not liable for any loss, damage or other inconvenience resulting from the use or performance of a digital wallet.

7. AMENDMENTS TO THE APPLICABLE CONDITIONS

We can amend the following conditions at any time:

a) Method of payment via the digital wallet and availability of the service
b) Addition or removal of a card
c) Security rules
d) Maximum payment amount
e) Protection of personal information
f) Warranty and exclusion of liability
g) Method of amending applicable conditions

You will be informed of any amendments via an electronic notice at least 30 days prior to the effective date of the change. This notice will set out the old clause, the new clause and the effective date. An amendment does not create a new agreement, and the unmodified terms and conditions remain in full force and effect. If you use the digital wallet after an amendment comes into effect, you are deemed to have read and accepted the amendment. You can refuse an amendment at any time by ceasing to use the digital wallet.
