Little details that matter

National Bank's security measures for your online bank also apply when you access online services through Interac ® Sign-In Service.

The only information National Bank provides to Interac ® Sign-In Service is a random number generated when you first sign in. Every time you use the Interac ® Sign-In Service, this same number is used to establish a secure connection. Your personal data and sign-in details are never exchanged during the process.

Interac ® Sign-In Service acts as an intermediary between the various online services you access and the sign-in partners you choose. Since the connection is established through Interac ® Sign-In Service, none of the online services know which sign-in partner you've used, and none of the sign-in partners know which online service you are accessing.

For more information, check out the Interac ® Sign-In Service privacy statement.

Changing sign-in partners

You can change sign-in partners at any time by clicking on Switch My Sign-In Partner at the top of the page where the list of partners appears. If you use a new partner, some government websites may ask you security questions to confirm your identify.

Using different sign-in partners

You can use the same sign-in partner to access all of the services offering Interac ® Sign-In Service authentication. However, you can add as many sign-in partners as you wish, and access government services using whichever partner you prefer.

It's a secure, private and convenient way to sign into online government services. Instead of having to create and manage a new user ID and password, you can gain access by signing in with your online banking credentials from a trusted sign-in partner – an approved digital credential that you already know and trust. The service was formerly known as Government Sign-In by Verified.Me and SecureKey Concierge. To learn more, visit the Interac ® Sign-In Service.

  1. When you open a session for the first time using Interac ® Sign-In Service, you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions of use and the privacy policy. You will then be redirected to the government site where you'll already be signed in.
