Legal disclaimers

1. Savings are calculated as follows: Reduced monthly fee for transactions included in The ModestTM and The ConnectedTM packages (annual savings of $119.40). This savings represents the difference between what is gained by participating in the offer compared to not participating.

2. Card granted subject to credit approval by National Bank of Canada. Certain conditions apply.

Grace period: No interest will be charged on purchases made during the month provided the client pays his balance in full within twenty-one (21) days of the date of the statement. This grace period does not apply to cash advances or balance transfers. Minimum payment: you can make a full or partial payment of the account balance at any time. However, you must make the minimum payment by the due date indicated on your statement. The minimum payment due represents the entire account balance if your balance is under $10. If you are a resident of the province of Quebec and your balance is more than $10: A) Your account was opened before August 1st, 2019: your minimum payment will represent 2.5% of the account balance until August 1st, 2020, plus any overdue amounts. The minimum payment will increase by 0.5% each year until it reaches 5% on August 1st, 2024. B) Your account was opened on or after August 1st, 2019: your minimum payment will represent 5% of the account balance, plus any overdue amounts. If you reside in a province or territory outside of Quebec, your account balance is more than $10 and your account was opened before or after August 1st, 2019: your minimum payment will represent 2.5% of the account balance plus any overdue amounts. For further information, please refer to the cardholder agreement. Account statement: an account statement is sent monthly.

3. Interest is calculated at the end of each day on the total daily balance. Interest is paid monthly. Variable annual rate subject to change without notice. See current rates.

4. For The ModestTM, The ConnectedTM and The TotalTM: the Student discount is for full-time students, aged 18 to 24 inclusively, attending a post-secondary institution, upon presentation of identity documents (proof of age), proof of full-time student status (proof of registration, course schedule or transcripts). Only for individual account holders. The package is validated annually by presenting the above documents.

5. Transactions carried out at our ABMs, a participating merchant, through our online banking services (including our call centre) or those related to certain operations in your account.

6. No fees for sending an Interac e-Transfer®. Fees apply to the Interac e-Transfer® itself if you exceed the number of transactions included in your package.

7. Under condition that the mobile device is purchased with your mycreditTM credit card, or mobile service being paid by recurring pre-authorized payments from your mycreditTM credit card.

8. The promotional offer is valid from May 27, 2019 to October 31st, 2019.

The offer is intended for all persons and National bank clients without any checking account at National Bank.

To qualify, you must open a checking account and sign up for the below eligible products during the promotional period. You must have reached the age of majority at the time of your enrollment in the covered products.

The offer may be modified, extended, or withdrawn without prior notice at any time. Employees of National Bank and its subsidiaries and entities are not eligible.

The offer may not be combined or used with any other National Bank offer, promotion or benefit and cannot be applied retroactively. There is a limit of one cashback per subscribed product during this promotion. The client cannot benefit of the offer more than once. Only the primary account holder is eligible for the offer. The actual secondary account holders that open a new account are not eligible to the offer. The cashback amount varies according to the conditions fulfilled.

To be eligible to the offer you must open a new checking account with an eligible package or one of the banking offers described below and meet the offer conditions in order to receive up to 200$ cashback.

1st Cashback conditions.

After opening your new checking account and choose an eligible product you must:

  • Sign up to online banking and to online statement
  • Carry out at least one eligible transaction in your new bank account. (Interest charges and banking fees charged to the account are not considered eligible transactions.)

Conditions to double up the cashback offer.

You must:

Use a specimen cheque to set up recurring direct deposits of your pay or monthly retirement pension. You can get a copy online or at a branch.

  • Online: Sign up to your online bank. Once signed in, select the account into which you want to deposit your funds, and go to the Option section of the account. Click on Download a cheque sample.
  • At a branch: Visit your branch and ask for a specimen cheque or letter confirming your account information.

You benefit of 60 days following the checking account opening to meet the offer conditions and obtain the cashback.

Cashbacks will be done in one (1) deposit in your new National Bank checking account within 120 days of the opening date for the subscribed products.

Commitment

To be granted the cashback, you must maintain the eligible products and services, and not make any changes related to these products and services for a minimum of 12 months after signing up for them. If you do not meet this condition, you will have to repay to the Bank an amount corresponding to the period in which you did not keep your eligible products and services, within 30 days of receiving the request for payment.

Clients who have benefit from a cashback offer on their checking account since November 1st 2017 are not eligible to this offer.
