When will deposited funds be available?
Access to your funds is generally subject to the same rules as when you deposit your cheques at a branch or ABM, and to the deposit/withdrawal rating established for your bank account.
A part of that amount can be accessed immediately. The rest will be frozen for 2 to 4 business days for the Canadian currency and 10 to 20 business days for the American currency. The amount frozen and the length of the hold depends on the deposit/withdrawal rating assigned to your file.
Here's how to see the available balance in your account after a deposit :
From your web browser :
- Sign in to your online banking for business.
- Access your account summary.
- Your available balance will be shown under Available balance.
From the app :
- Sign in to the National Bank app.
- Click on your account, then select the (+) button.
- Your available balance will be shown under Available balance.
You can find the terms of use of access to funds and the peculiarities of digital deposits in our Access to Funds Policy.
Please contact your advisor to change your deposit/withdrawal rating.
