What is a request for funds, and how do I respond?

An Interac e-Transfer® money request allows a recipient to request a transfer from you via email or text message.

Important :

  • If you accept the request, the funds will be sent directly to the recipient.
  • Once the request has been accepted, it can’t be cancelled.
  • Never accept an unexpected money request, from an unknown recipient, or if you suspect it could be a scam.

What to do if you receive a money request:

From your web browser:

  1. Select National Bank from the email or text message you received.
  2. Sign in to online banking for business.
  3. Select Accept or Refuse, then click Continue.
  4. Follow the instructions.

From the National Bank app:

  1. Select National Bank from the email or text message you received.
  2. Sign in to the National Bank app for business.
  3. Select the account into which you want to accept or refuse the request for funds.
  4. Select Accept or Refuse, then click Continue.
  5. Follow the instructions.

Good to know:

  • The maximum amount you can send per day is $4,000.
  • You cannot request funds through Interac with National Bank at this time, but you can accept requests addressed to you.
