Here are the dates to remember for the TFEs, with the holiday season holidays approaching:

  • Christmas Day and Boxing Day: Files that have a payable date between Wednesday, December 25, 2024 and Friday, December 27, 2024 must be sent before Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. (ET).
  • New Year's Day 2025 and After New Year's Day: Files that have a payable date between Wednesday, January 1, 2025 and Friday, January 3, 2025 must be sent before Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. (ET).
  • Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD): Pre-Authorized Debit transactions cannot be processed during a weekend or banking holiday in Canada. They will be debited from the payer's account on the working day following.

Good to know: The file transfer dates mentioned above also apply to Pre-Authorized Debit transactions.

Scheduled payments Payments scheduled on a statutory holiday will be processed the next business day. To avoid delays that could result in fees, we suggest that you advance the date of your scheduled payment.
Payroll deposits If your employer has followed the procedures detailed below for a statutory holiday, your pay will be deposited electronically as usual. Otherwise, your pay will be deposited on the next business day.

 

Business

Service provider payments (e.g., Hydro-Québec), and electronic payments They can be carried out on working days excluding statutory holidays.
Payments from other billers
Government remittances - Canada and Quebec
Government remittances - Other provinces
International payments (SWIFT)
