How do I generate a verification code for a user?
When users sign in to online banking for business, we send them a verification code by text or email to identify them securely.
To generate a verification code for a user, you must be an administrator or an authorized user. You must also ensure that the user's communication information is up to date. Then make sure you have :
- The Manager users permission and the associated right to View
- The Manage permissions permission and the associated right to View
- The Manage legal entities permission and the associated right to View
- The Manage accounts permission and the associated right to View
- The Manage job roles permission and the associated right to View
- The Manage self-approved permissions permission and the associated right to View
- Verified that the user's communication information is up to date
Then follow these steps :
- Sign in to online banking for business.
- From the home page under Administration, click Manage access.
- Select the Users and permissions tab.
- Enter the user’s name, family name or user code in the search bar, then select the user.
- Click Manage permissions.
- Click Generate a verification code, then Confirm.
- Send the verification code displayed on the screen to the user.
Good to know
To prevent the user's account from being locked during authentication, make sure that their information is up to date :
- By adding a mobile number, you can receive the verification code by text.
- By adding an email address, you can receive the verification code by email.
When is the verification code required?
Even if a user registers their device, we will ask for a verification code for the following reasons :
- First time signing in
- Signing in using an unknown device
- Changing the geolocation of a device
- Updating a browser or operating system
- Changing browser or operating system.
