Personal banking – Arrival at National Bank

Enjoy a new banking experience now that your products and services are migrated to National Bank.

Sign up to your online bank

Signing up to your online bank can be done several ways. Use the method that applies to you.

What to do following the migration of your products and services

After signing up to your online bank and setting up your profile, verify the following information.

Accounts and statements

Check your account balances and recent transactions in your online bank or on your paper statements.

Payees and suppliers (online banking and ABMs)

Check that all your suppliers are correctly entered (up to 20 suppliers). If any are missing, you will have to add them manually.

Transactions linked to your account number (Laurentian Bank)

Promptly provide your new account number to the issuers of these payments before the end of the redirection period.

  • For 3 months: Incoming wire transfers.
  • For 6 months: Direct deposits, EDI credits, pre-authorized debits, and cheques drawn on your Laurentian Bank account, whether it is a bank account or a line of credit.

Order new cheques as soon as possible after the migration.

Learn how to order your cheques

No fees will be applied to your first order of 100 regular cheques linked to your chequing account if you order before February 28, 2027.

For detailed instructions on each of these steps, please consult the Product and Service Migration Guide – Personal.

Activate your National Bank debit card

You can activate your National Bank debit card and use it at an ABM or at a merchant’s point-of-sale terminal using the PIN you received by mail.

As a National Bank client, you can use one of 2,500 ABMs in THE EXCHANGE® network to carry out transactions without paying additional fees anywhere in Canada.

How are my investments handled?

Certain conditions may change.

What won’t change

  • Investment funds: Unless otherwise specified, the investment funds in your investment accounts will remain unchanged during the migration. There will therefore be no tax impact at the time of the transfer, as your investments will not be sold.
  • Systematic investment and withdrawal plans: Your LBCFS investment portfolio will be migrated in-kind to an account at NBSI that will maintain your systematic investments and withdrawals.

What’s changing

  • Account numbers: Your LBCFS accounts will be migrated to NBSI and new account numbers will be assigned.
  • Additional transactions: Additional transactions in your LBCFS investment portfolio (such as purchases, new systematic plans and switches) will not be permitted after the migration. However, redemptions will remain available.
  • Processing times: Your investment portfolio will be transferred gradually in the days following the migration. Be advised that if a systematic investment or withdrawal is scheduled during the migration period, it may be processed a few days later.
  • Access to branch services: Whether or not you did business with an LBCFS mutual fund representative, the National Bank branch of your choice can provide the support you need. Please consult the Product and Service Migration Guide – Investment Products for details.
  • Online bank: Sign in to your online bank after the migration to view your investment products. Please note that not all your assets will be visible immediately. It may take a few days to see the entire balance of your investment accounts.

Monitor our communications on your credit card

Your Laurentian Bank credit card will continue to be functional during and after the migration weekend from November 6 to 8.

You can continue to use your credit card as usual for your everyday business transactions, as well as access your account through the Laurentian Bank credit card portal. More information about your credit card, including timelines, terms and conditions, and actions to take, will be communicated at a later date.

Paying your credit card after November 8

If you want to pay your Laurentian Bank credit card through your online bank, you must add “Laurentian Bank Visa” as a supplier under the “Bills” tab. Watch our demo.
