What is my debit card purchase limit?

To access your debit card purchase limit:

From the National Bank app:

  1. Sign in to the National Bank app.
  2. Click Menu, then click My cards.
  3. Under your debit card, click Manage.
  4. Under Options, you'll find your daily ABM purchase and withdrawal limits in Canada and abroad.

From your web browser: 

  1. Sign in to your online bank.
  2. Click on the profile icon where you see your name displayed, then select the Preferences tab.
  3. Click Manage my debit card, then click Manage.
  4. Under Options, you'll find your daily ABM purchase and withdrawal limits in Canada and abroad.

If needed, click Edit next to Options, and then click Maximize my limits to take advantage of the maximum limits allowed with your card. These limits cannot be increased.

Note that the purchase limit for contactless payments is $250 per transaction. A cumulative limit of $500 applies. Once you have reached this contactless purchase limit, you will be required to make another debit payment with a PIN to confirm that you are the legitimate cardholder.
