Types of users and administrators within online banking for business


There are several types of users or administrators that can access online banking:
 

 

1. Business administrator: 

  • Must be identified as a signatory of the business in National Bank’s documents
  • Will have a job role assigned by the bankSystem administrator,  Access and account management, and Approval management  
  • Has all the rights available within online banking, and is able to create and manage userspermissions and transactions 
  • Has been granted approval and self-approval permissions by National Bank
  • Can only have their access removed by following the administrator removal procedure 
  • Can contact National Bank to receive help with products and services

 

2. A group overview manager: 

  • Is defined by the business’s signatories upon enrollment with National Bank 
  • Can also be an administrator or authorized user 
  • Can manage the group overview, create, add, and remove others from the overview. 
  • Can create account groups within the group overview 
  • Can manage job roles and permissions in the group overview 
  • Can configure an accounting software user 
  • Cannot have their permissions withdrawn 
  • Can view the accounts of all the entities within the group overview 
  • Can only view a business group’s financial information; doesn’t have the right to perform business functions

 

3. An authorized user:

  • Doesn’t have any permissions by default
  • Is granted rights by an administrator or authorized user 
  • Can be configured by following the create a user and attribute a job role and account group to a user procedures

Job roles assigned by the bank 

The bank gives access with permissions to administrators and authorized users by default. 

The following job roles can be granted by the bank: 

  • System administrator
  • Access and account management 
  • Approval management
  • Admin file transfer 
  • Accounting software user 
     

These job roles act in addition to access rights for transactions, depending on the features to which the business is subscribed.

 

System administrator

The System administrator job role contains permissions that can only be withdrawn by National Bank. This job role cannot be given to another user. However, it is possible to create a job role containing these same permissions so that they can be assigned, if required.

Access and account management 

The Access and account management job role allows most of the actions needed to manage a company.It is assigned by default to the authorized user and to signatory administrators of the business. This job role can be removed by an administrator or an authorized user as needed.

  • Reactivate access  
  • Delete access   
  • Account summary  
  • Manage statements   
  • Rename accounts

Approval management 

The Approval management job role allows a user to approve modifications to an account group and job roles, as well as the possibility to change approval rules for an entity. This role can be revoked by an administrator or an authorized user as needed.

  • Level A approval
  • Self-approval (the approval level must correspond to the one attributed in the approval policy)
